What is Type W Round Mining Cable?
Type W is a for general use in mining operations where bare grounding conductors are not required or desired. This cable is available from AmerCable in three- & four-conductor construction. The recommended maximum continuous conductor temperature is 90°C.
What is Type W Round Mining Cable best used for?
It’s suitable for use with mobile mining equipment such as continuous miners, drills, cutters, loading machines and AC shuttle cars where bare grounding conductors are not required or desired
What is Type G-GC mining cable?
Type G-GC is a heavy-duty, flexible mining cable designed with three power conductors, two grounding conductors and a bare ground-check conductor. It is commonly used to supply power to mobile mining equipment operating in demanding underground environments.

What does the ground check provide in Type G-GC?
The ground-check conductor allows compatible monitoring equipment to verify the continuity of the grounding circuit. This helps identify a loss of ground continuity and supports safer operation of mobile mining equipment.
What type of conductor insulation is used?
Tiger® Brand’s power conductors are insulated with 90°C ethylene-propylene rubber, commonly known as EPR. EPR insulation offers excellent electrical performance, flexibility and resistance to heat and moisture.
What is the maximum conductor temperature?
The recommended maximum continuous conductor temperature is 90°C.
Can Type G-GC mining cable be submerged in water?
AmerCable does not recommend ever deploying an energized mining cable in shallow water.
This cable is rated for shallow-water submersion down to 40 feet (12.2 meters) However, the installation conditions should be reviewed to make certain the selected cable is appropriate for the expected depth, duration and operating environment.
Is this cable approved by MSHA?
Yes. All Tiger Brand underground mining cables carry the “P-7K-184-MSHA” marking and are listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration under approval number 7K-184-MSHA.
Does the cable have Pennsylvania mining approval?
Yes. It is listed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under approval number P-184.
Does Type G-GC cable meet Canadian (CSA) requirements?
Yes. Tiger® Brand mining cables meet or exceed CSA Standard C22.2 No. 96. Applicable Canadian ratings include CSA File 82346, FT1 and FT5 flame ratings, and a temperature rating of -50°C. The CSA listing covers Type G-GC and G-BGC cable through 2 kV. We have a long, successful history providing mining cables to Canadian mining companies.

What CPE & TPU jacket colors are available?
Black is the standard jacket color, but the cables are also available in solid blue, green, orange, red and yellow. Availability should be confirmed when ordering.
CPE jackets are also availabe with colors & stripes or relfective Tiger Stripes.
Do colored jackets have reduced electrical properties?
No. Our cables, regardless of color, all deliver the same high-quality, consistent electrical properties.
